There's decent short term street parking by Janney, especially around the side. The amazing underground garage for teachers and staff also helps!

Of course, there are a handful of parents who insist on parking DIRECTLY across from the main entrance creating an always annoying and occasionally dangerous bottleneck. But hey, they must be very important and don't have the extra 90 second it takes to park down the street a bit.

Some moronic parents even drop their kids off on the Sidwell side of 37th St. and let them dart across the street.

Plenty of neighborhood parking near Meyer. It should be fine.

How is drop-off/pick-up at Hyde Addison at the Gtown location?

What do parents expect will be the situation at the swing space for kids not taking the bus?

I saw the explanation below on the FAQ regarding Meyer. Does that seem sufficient?

(From the FAQ:
"Will parking be available for parents to visit the school for drop off, pick up, and school visits?

"We will work with the school to determine if there are enough spaces in the parking lot to accommodate

"school visitors who need to stay longer than two hours. There are 200 spaces, currently. We would lose some

"of those for playground space, but there still should be enough space to dedicate a few to parents. Short-
"term parking in front of Meyer will also be provided for pick-up and drop-off. Street parking is mostly zoned

"as two hours for non-neighbors.") (See https://docs.google.com/a/dc.gov/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGMuZ292fGRjcHMtc2Nob29sLW1vZGVybml6YXRpb25zfGd4OjRiZjJlYjE1ZWFlZWZkZQ)

It's not a philosophy I agree with at all, but that's how I have seen it played.

Not possible to bus 40k students to hundreds of different schools from dozens of neighborhoods. The very notion of this ever getting raised is ludicrous.

SS has a Kiss n Go. Staff meets cars. Ample off stree unmetered parking . School has asked parents to be respectful of the neighbors and park (when needed) on the streets that abut the shook. Not in front of homes. Not so difficult .
