I was always natural but straighted my hair. In 2000 I started wearing twists and was asked to change. I didnt and everyone adjusted. When I left there in 2009 I wore straight hair for interviews. Now there are so many natural I don't think you will have a problem or considered rare. Sisterlocs are lovely. Best wishes and it's sad we have to consider this, but we do.

But there are many ignorant people out there. If there is an AA mentoring group you have access to, you may want to ask for advice from a senior AA professional. I hate that this is an issue--it's the ignorance of some managers, clients, and coworkers that I'd be concerned about.
