Yes. Wilson is very stressful. They really need to get some new administrators there as many of the old guard are just passing time. Either that or they are very understaffed. There is no support or oversight of teachers and there are a few interesting and inexperienced ones out there.

I also found DCPS to be much less stressful than being in two charters and five wasted years. Children are treated horribly unless parents play nice and either donate or find a way to raise a substantial amount of money for the school.

I've found DCPS a million times less stressful than private (switched from private to public a few years ago, mid-elementary school). My kid can breathe and learn to do things on her own.

But families are finally starting to stick it out in order to give our middle school a try. But wow. We're at Brent, where the main source of stress is a MS feed that is almost entirely focused on remedial education (with a 6th grade proficiency pass rate in the teens for both ELA and Math), and the need to be really diplomatic with PTA leaders who try hard to motivate us to seriously consider sending our children there before any advanced classes exist.

Yes. We are at an EoTP school. My kids class itself is great, we are lucky though with a great PK teacher. The overall school though? A mess of communication, PTA is some kind of PTA-lite, no focus or legit fundraising. Primary focus, or only focus is making parents feel good about themselves, not about improving school, fundraising or acacademics. Kid is having a good year but like most of the likeminded parents in her class, playing lottery again. If you want less stress in DCPS, go west of the park or Brent on Cap Hill.

Upper elementary at a EOTP DCPS that's only now getting gentrifiers' attention. I've found the teachers and administrators very skilled and welcoming--more than at the wealthier schools we visited. Some of the kids are pretty loud and I don't have much in common with some of the parents, but by and large they are kind.

At the moment, my kid's special needs are making school stressful, but it is not at all about the school being unwilling to provide services. It's about my stubborn kid, and that would be an issue at private or charter schools or (heaven forbid) if we homeschooled him. DCPS has been great.

That sodium is totally unstable. Hydrogen will bond with anything; always falling in with the wrong crowd. Helium and argon are okay; they keep to themselves.
