That day my dad and his girldfriend were driving out to the midwest to get my sister, as she was spending the spring semester abroad and had to get her stuff home. I woke up in the morning freaking out about my dad, and called my sister to find out if he was there yet (this was before there were cell phones). She wasn't expecting him until later in the day. I didn't really know why I was freaking out, I just felt compelled to track him down.
Came to find out later the exact time I was freaking out, my dad got in a spin-out on an icy highway in Pennsylvania and collided with a tractor trailer. He and his gf were fine, but the car was totalled.
Amazing to hear about all the people who felt this sudden urge of panic or need to call the person, right as an accident was happening.
