You can say it is immoral. Your grandparents are human. Humans mess up. I know my grandparents were quite immoral, but such is life. It is hard to be perfect.

If they only broke up due to distance, it's possible the ex never stopped loving OP and is only with the new bf/gf because they didn't think OP was coming back into the picture?

My DH was deployed to the Middle East 3 times while we were dating. Never once did I give up because of the distance. We couldn't even talk regularly. He's been deployed twice since we've been married and nothing has changed.

OP this is not okay and distance shouldn't have mattered if the rest was there.

In theory, he is off-limits.

And I personally wouldn't go "there" because I know bad karma would likely follow me into my next romantic relationship no doubt.

All is fair in love and war! Sleep with the XBF. Show him what he is missing

There is your answer.

Omg, no one is advising the OP to SLEEP with the ex, just have a talk and make sure there's no regrets.

You're right that OP doesn't specify "off limits" for what. But I was certainly under the impression that she was asking if it was okay to sleep with him. Jusdging from the responses, I am not alone.
