Anonymous wrote:Y'all are legitimately crazy for spending 3 pages so far judging the clothing choices of others. If you're cold, dress in a manner that keeps you warm, but don't act like someone else has to feel the same way just because you do. I used to work at the Senate - my office was in the Dirksen building - and it was like hell in there. I dealt with the brief cold outside so I could be comfortable for 10 hours of my day inside. If you're looking and judging, guess what? IDGAF I don't dress for you, I dress for myself and my own comfort, and I was hardly the only person who dressed this way because of how sweltering hot they kept it in there.

At worst, if the situation is really inappropriate for bare legs, I think they are disrespectful. I'm not even that old, and I know others feel this way too.
Yes you can wear anything you want, but there are consequences in how people perceive you.
Women with bare legs and pumps in any season are stupid at best? Oy, I can't wait for boomers to retire.
And the world keeps spinning and the get to live fabulous lives if they so choose and your judgement doesn't stop them from the one, best ever opportunity that they will now never know. Good grief, you don't hold the keys to the universe, so don't assume that you and your judgy ilk even matter in these women's lives.

Oh hell, I grew up in Wisconsin---I don't even have my winter coat out yet!

Tights? It just looks so unprofessional and so out of season. We are a 4 season town. It's like wearing flip-flops instead of snow boots in the snow. I would feel so self- conscious. Black tights and flats or boots go with just about anything.
I would wonder about your level of common sense if I were your boss.
If you wonder about that and not my actual work product, I wouldn't think you're a very good boss.
It reveals your bad judgment, which likely carries over into your work.
That's an awful lot of mental gymnastics to make assumptions about my work. You could, you know...just look at the work.
You reap what you sow, baby.

I still can't get him to wear a real coat. A northface jacket is all he'll put on or else he gets too hot.
