Subject: Do all parents think their teens are the best looking kids?
My teen boy has a face only his mother can love. He's a sweet kid, but did not win the looks lottery.

OP here. I am sure your DC is stunning. I also find that AA and other background have extremely attractive teens. I do not believe in race concept, only in ethnic differences. I think we are all one race. In general sense, I find that AA teens are more attractive than Caucasian teens. That is not to say that there are no very attractive Caucasian teen and adults. But that could be because of my diverse background.
The way you guys talk about race and "Caucasians" is really off-putting.
Caucasian children aren't attractive? Imagine if a white person said dark-skinned children weren't attractive? Nasty people. From the way you write, I am guessing that despite any external beauty your children might have, they are ugly on the inside, just like you two.

I agree LOL. My Golden is the best looking dog around! But, I admit, sometimes, only on anonymous board, that compared to other Goldens he is as dumb as a rock! Makes me love him even more!

My kids are average attractive. Thin, no acne, well kept. They're popular and get attention from the opposite sex. But model gorgeous? No.
I do know some kids who are crazy beautiful. Both boy and girls (different families). They've been striking since middle elementary. Just beautiful humans.

Both of my daughters are fairly attractive, but I've taken pains to focus them on what their bodies can do instead of what their bodies look like. I also made a huge emphasis on intelligence and empathy. We actually are training for a marathon this spring, the three of us. My kids did their first sprint tri this summer. We are an active family.
I was an attractive teen and my mother made it clear that my looks were the most important thing in the world. When I went to college, it was reinforced by my sorority. It took working and leaving the SEC school I attended to get some perspective. I am trying not to pass on that history (though I am certain they'll resent me for something different

MY DD has a tall, thin, muscular, limby figure, that some find very attractive (and many women would die for). I've had other mom's comment on it and express envy (ie "is it bad that I covet your DD's legs"). She is very athletic and is more interested in what her body can do than it's attractiveness. But I know she is picking up on the fact that she has a nice figure. I've asked some questions to probe to see if it's attracting unwanted attention from boys. Seems not to be thus far. But its something I need to keep an eye on and prepare her for. She's in MS, so we shall see what HS brings.

This. My friend thinks her teen girl is so pretty. She is sweet, kind, and a cute girl. I think it is cute my friend thinks this about her child, though, not delusional. I think it is cute the OP thinks this about her own kids so the answer to her question is: I'm sure YOU do think your kids are the best looking (or really good looking.)

My kids are drop dead gorgeous - to me! They are horrendously ugly - according to them!
I suspect that in reality they are average looking kids, but I still can't help the love and pride I feel when I see their funny faces.
