I leave for work a bit later than I'd prefer to because our bus comes at 7:50. It makes more sense for me to go into work 10 minutes late than to pay $134/month for extended day so I could be at work exactly at 8:30 vs. 8:40.

It sounds like you guys are uncomfortable enough with the situation that one of you needs to rethink your morning schedule. As long as your husband is available by smartphone or tablet, I bet he could do the dropoff and be at work in plenty of time. If something did pop up, he could likely deal with it remotely. I'd be surprised if so many people were actually at work by 7:30.

I would see how early you can drop her off. I know at my children's school, you can drop off 15 minutes before school starts if you don't participate in before care or breakfast. What time would your DH get to work if he could drop her off at 7:15?

Op here- we live in Indiana but part that is Central time zone- yet I work still my D.C. job so that's why my day starts early. Work a trading desk so tough for me - my husband just gets into office at 7:30 because he is leader of his team.
But I really appreciate the comments here and I think you're right- I should make this work because it is nice time to spend with my daughter. I really hadn't thought of it in that light- I don't get to talk to her much because when I do drive, I take the other kids but still get to hear them all talk.
As for the wasted route-- I think I may make a meeting with superintendent to discuss- it's a waste of money to drive routes no one rides. I assume it's the superintendent.
The car pool drama is just annoying stuf with one mom- doesn't involve me but I don't like drama.
