In PG, yes.
We're AA and we moved to MoCo instead of PG because we wanted the option of a good school district. So far, MCPS and Montgomery county as a whole have been a good fit for our two children.
Where in MCPS are you?
In an area where we like the neighborhood and the schools.
Where the schools are likely more white or asian , lower FARMS, and better test scores.
Yeah...no. I wouldn't put my children through the experience of potentially being the only Black child in their classroom...and getting free or reduced lunch isn't an automatic death sentence.
I'm also that parent who knows how to really look at the data and knows that some of our schools west of 355 have a lower Black student graduation rate than other schools in the county.
Basically, we like where we are, our neighbors are nice, our house isn't a money pit, and our kids are happy and thriving in diverse schools. I can't complain. Life is good.
