PS, we eat a ton of wild animals (elk, venison, fish) ~ I think that its funny that you somehow either didn't know that people do this, or that you only think that meat comes from mass production slaughter houses. We don't "rip the animals from their environment for financial gain", we buy meat that was hunted because we are carnivores and eat meat, and would rather eat meat that has lived a life without antibiotics and hormones or all of the junk you eat in your torture animals.

So killing an animal because it has been earmarked for death since conception is okay, but swimming with live animals is not. In your family, that is.

That's some interesting logic! Good thing dolphins don't taste good or you would be fine with dolphin hatcheries for consumption, but not for them swimming and being alive.

Seems like a lot of justification gymnastics to me.

Nope, no pets (allergies). We are certified to foster them though, and do "check out" dogs from the shelter for a few hours to take to Great Falls and hike.

Yes, we eat meat a few times a week, which was RAISED TO BE CONSUMED. Wild animals are not. Dolphins are not. We are moving closer to being vegan again.

I would rather they not rip wild animals from their environment for financial gain at all.

You people who cae some much about the dolphins... do you care about the mistreatment of workers in the vacation areas of developing countries. Not saying you shouldn't go, but there is a lot of talk about how some people are not treated right when the native people go to work for large corporations that have set up a tourism market in developing countries.

She can't answer right now- her three kids and SUV are running all over town for practice before she gets home to some chicken in the crockpot and a dog that needs to be walked.

But- the the the dolphins y'all!

Would you rather that they take them when they are older? It seems way kinder to take them when they are young. Like adoption. But with fish mammals.

If you don't care about dolphin suffering, that's fine, but it's ridiculous to say it's "kinder" to take young dolphins as if it's "adoption". Watch the documentary the Cove, which chronicles not just dolphin slaughter but the dolphin captivity trade.

Even worse than dolphins in captivity- your child could be so influenced by interacting with dolphins that they end up with a career in wildlife conservation, which pays squat. Pretty sure my parents regret the dolphin experience, ha.
