I don't discriminate based on height, but I would probably feel uncomfortable dating a guy who is five inches shorter or more.

Just like all biological sex differences (i.e. women are less hairy, have fuller lips, more hourglass figure, etc) I think it can be a turn on to have those sex differences exaggerated.
So, it may look even more masculine/feminine to have the male partner tower over the female partner, vs the reverse or when they are equally matched. It may be a turn on, in that sense- an extreme version of the female/male dichotomy. Just a theory.

My preference would have been to date taller, but I did notice that taller men went for shorter women. A few tall guy friends I asked about this said they liked the feeling of being bigger and more powerful.
My best friend is 5'8. Her two brothers are 6'3 and 6'6, respectively. They straight up told her that guys hate tall women and both are married to shorter girls. She said she feels she never gets male attention because of her height![]()
Yes, men clearly hate tall women. Tall women never get any attention or validation. It's a real cross to bear.
(It's not and I think your friend might have brothers who are fucking with her and also, not nice.)
They are jerks and telling her that, even if true, was definitely not cool. It totally gave her a complex. And her personal experiences have backed up thaeir assertions, so... yeah. Needless to say I have given her many pep talks about how lots of guys will love her height. But these are her experiences (and they are valid)
), just one factor of many.

It's a better fit for them! 5'11" and shorter guys have bigger private parts, so they don't care about woman's height as much. It's all about what fits you in that department I guess! Does this help?
Ha! Actually the opposite is true, statistically. But very creative attempt, shortie![]()
Seriously....met many tall (6'2" and up dudes), handsome, smart, and big disappointment down there. I was like REALLY!!!!

One, 5-8 isn't even that tall. Two, her complex is probably the problem not her height.
Perhaps. Though it does sync up with what others have said they experienced and observed.
I agree 5'8 is not that tall so I can only surmise what others have dealt with who are even taller...
Where and what others have observed and experienced that "guys hate tall women"???
I think a lot of short guys probably don't choose to date tall women, but otherwise I don't even understand what you're talking about.
This is ridiculous. Most guys do not "hate tall women". I am pretty average, IMO (5'11") and I dated three >=6ft women. Their height was statuesque and made them all the more attractive to me.
There are plenty of people who don't care one way or the other, but if there is a stereotypical (common) pattern it is that women want a taller male partner.
