Lorelai was also overly silly about everything. It was also so unrealistic how they could eat all that junk food and not gain weight and how Rory almost always got what she wanted. I also couldn't stand how fast they talked!
Thank God, I thought I was the only one. Absolutely hate this show. Lorelei is so annoying I could not bear to watch.
I want to punch her in the face.
It's the actress. I hate her on Parenthood, too. She's terrible.

I loved Gilmore girls but there are plenty of popular shows I disliked. I just did not watch them.
Because I felt left out.Everyone always talked about or referenced the show, so I thought I was missing something really great. I started to watch it and was annoyed, but was kind of curious where it went and was hopeful that it would become less annoying. And I wanted to know who Lorelai would end up with. And I wanted to watch the reboot that everyone was excited about. I am a pop culture follower.

Stop watching it and watch Dawson's Creek instead, lol. Or Felicity. Even Dawson Leery is less annoying than Lorelei.
Because these shows are inspiring "water cooler" conversations? Maybe a decade ago.

Is Gilmore Girls inspiring water cooler conversations at work? I have heard little about it frankly. But when I admitted to coworkers that I was watching Dawson's Creek recently, it got several people reminiscing, LOL. What's the difference?

YES!! me too! Friends talking about how much they love it-- and Netflix pushing it based what I like. I didn't grow to hate it-- from the first episode I hated it. Very North-East, prep school, "clever" and I HATED the way Loreilei treated her parents-- especially hindering the relationship with her daughter and her grandparents. I kept trying, thinking "I must be missing something-- what exactly is wrong with me? Everyone says this is funny--- and I'm horrified . . ." Ultimately I don't think I got past more than 5 episodes.
PS, I've been meaning to post this confessional for years and just couldn't bring myself to it. thanks for listening DCUM! I do feel better knowing I'm not the only one out there blind to the charms of "Gilmore Girls".![]()
