But that's because it's a population where a significant portion of students attend private school. But I get your point. Still, on average, I bet the Mann income greatly outpaces the Janney income, FARMS kids included.

The other schools have generally had, up until now, larger percentages of OOB students. Janney was the first to have virtually no one who is OOB. Now more of the rest of the Ward 3 schools are trending in that direction.

Not true. Mann always had fewer. In fact, Mann was the one school that was able to delay being forced into ending at 5th grade (some WOTP schools used to go to 6th) for an extra year or so. That's because all the IB students didn't want to go to Hardy, but Mann has always had more political pull. They're just subtle about it. It's like they're Kennedys and prefer privacy and discretion whereas the Janney folks are like Kardashians. They JUST WON"T SHUT UP.

Right - but Janney's IB homes are closer to Metro and of anyone, have least chance of ever in the future being zoned out of Deal and Wilson because of that proximity.

Metro proximity and IB middles do not make Janney the most affluent, which is what you were arguing before, and what you have changed your mind about a few times now. Metro accessibility and IB middles are just what makes IB Janney neighborhoods have a higher crime rate.

I think the real issue is that Janney had not 1 but 2 renovations before any other nearby schools had any. I suspect that now that Lafayette is done and when Murch is done, everyone will pipe down.

You really think AU Park is more affluent than Kent/Spring Valley/Wesley Heights? The only other more affluent places are neighborhoods where people are childless or empty nesters, like swathes of Kalorama and Georgetown, certainly not AU Park.

Mann is the most affluent.

Janney is the most affluent school. The people that live within Mann's district are more affluent, but their kids go to privates. I wasn't comparing neighborhoods, I was comparing schools. Janney has the lowest FARM percentage in the entire city.

Janney feeds to best-in-class Deal. Mann merely feeds to "Hardly" Middle School.

Right- but we're not talking about the schools that SV, Kent and FH feed into...we're talking about the less tony neighborhoods.
