OP, just tag team it if you don't have childcare. No problem. But it's great if both parents can make it.
Be aware that as kids get older, BTSN actually is more important, not less important. Just posted this elsewhere, but-- by MS and HS, the back to school nights are where the teachers often explain curriculum and grading details that your tween or teen might never let you know. Grading in HS is changing this year, for instance, so I think our BTSN at DD's school is going to involve a lot of important explanations of grading that parents should know. We always learn at lot of concrete stuff at BTSN since DD was in MS.
