I am pp, and I agree with you. They should have known crap like this shouldn't come near a presidential campaign.

Trump's campaign appears to have dragged up the absolute worst in many. (Why a republican like myself is so disappointed that he was the choice, among everything other disappointing reason).

I'm over it now. Not voting for him of course.

The why - and I'm speaking neutrally here - is that he instagramned it, prob not knowing anything about why the little green guy was there. Probably even someone else manages his insta. And he/they just thought it looked cool? (weird)

Betas probably made this. They would revel in being called deplorables. They rebel in being called anything that designates their lower status as nerds, "betas." I even hesitate to call them that, because I see them as valuable humans. (Every human is valuable.)

So yes they love this. It fuels their worldview. The image designer is idiotic and was messing around. And to pose them all as the underdogs is sending a message to themselves. 'We're taking the power back from the cool kids, from the celebrity-endorsed, media-loved candidate."

I appreciate the explanation but it left me wondering why a principal of a presidential campaign would be so seemingly cavalier about tweeting something he might not fully comprehend that, at least in his words, a friend sent to him. So, if it is a matter of someone else managing his account, that would appear to be a lie. On the other hand, if he isn't responsible for the posting, he could disavow it even though most people would assume that someone coordinating social media for the Trump's would understand the larger context, particularly in light of past instances involving RTs from the alt-right. It shows incredibly poor judgement and utter lack of discipline although, to their credit, they have handled yesterday's event far better than I would have expected.
