I found that Hanna Andersson is cut wide/big. Cute clothes but but slim kids were always swimming in them.

I like these Carter's pants because they don't squeeze too tight around my DD's chubby belly like most baby pants do:

Haven't had any issues with them shrinking so far, and at 2 for $10 I don't need them to last a super long time.

My 12 month old is in the 90s for weight percentile and in the 40s for height/length percentile, and she is all belly and thighs, so I hear you OP.

A couple comments on prior posts, she has been crawling for some time and is walking now, but her thighs haven't slimmed at all. Also, Disney ran way too small even for my lean older daughter, and Gymboree has always been super, super slim (so won't work at all for my 12mo). So far we've been sticking with Carter's and sizing up, but within the past couple weeks even those don't seem to be working with her shape.

And to the PP, yes, she is in size 5 diapers, too! Where do we go from here?? My other DD never even got to size 5!

Somewhat of the opposite problem here, I have found that Gymboree runs too wide/long for my DD.

Zutano also makes some cute wide leg pants - I have found they run big as well. https://www.amazon.com/Zutano-Unisex-Primary-Solid-Months/dp/B00D3WQQGE/ref=sr_1_5?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1473171257&sr=1-5&nodeID=1046220&keywords=zutano

Macy's first impression brand has a lot of cute a-line tops.

My almost 8 month old DD is 12 months in tops and growing out of her 24 month bottoms. She's got an enormous bum and thighs, and is pretty tall (85th percentile for height and 95th for weight). What we've found works are boys pants (forget the girls leggings!) and baby leg warmers. I also heard of the leggings trick, but haven't tried it yet.

The biggest thing for me isn't the brand, because you can always size up, but knowing what kinds of clothes don't work (rompers with leg holes, leggings/skinny jeans), buying separate tops and bottoms, and keeping the price per article low. Since she only wears a size for 4-6 weeks, it's not worth it to buy Hanna Andersson new until her growth slows down.

FWIW, she's been crawling and cruising for a month now, and the thighs haven't slimmed down any. Maybe they still will, but I'm not holding my breath.

Speaking of big baby problems, can we talk about the diaper situation?? The size 4's are getting tight ... if she's going to be in size 5's at 8 months, how are we going to diaper her butt for another year+ ???

Check out Disney bodysuits (for example):

https://www.amazon.com/Disney-Cuddly-Bodysuit-Pointelle-Months/dp/B004WJ2JC2/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1473169510&sr=8-9&keywords=Disney+bodysuit

Lot of them have characters on them, but they do have some plain ones. They have more than one row of snaps at the crotch, which may give you extra room.

Crazy 8
Gymboree

My kids were fairly average, and both of these run much too wide for them.

Thanks for the tips PPs, my 7 month old is 23 pounds and I'm also having some issues with this but it seems like boy clothes have a little more room?

Hanna Anderson worked perfectly for my super chubby EBF baby. What a lot of people don't know if that BF babies track differently from FF. They are much chubbier as babies and thinner as toddlers, then it sort of evens out in later childhood. I had twins with all kinds of feeding issues who were FF and they were really skinny babies, then when my healthy, full-term younger DD was born and I was able to EBF, I was amazed at how fat she got. Now at 4 and 6 and they are all about the same proportion: short and scrawny, just like DH and I!

Anonymous wrote:Walmart. Seriously. I received some as a gift and it was one of the few brands I had that fit my DD. She was 18 lbs at 4mo like your daughter. Now at age 4 she is 30th percentile for weight, so I wouldn't worry about the weight being s long term issue.

I could have written this. Try Walmart, it's just baby clothes anyway, who cares how well they're made. My daughter was a chunk but is now 7 and is very tall and lean. I'm not tall but my husband is, so she must have gotten it from him.

Hanna Anderssen wiggle pants are cut generously. I love those pants.
