I have never been able to sit through Love Actually all the way through and I cringe when I am flipping channels around Christmas and there it is, and I'm in a dilemna: give it another chance like a bad boyfriend or go elsewhere (which is probably one of the plots of the stupid movie)?

Seems not many paid attention to your full post OP. I'll try so here goes:

Closer - I really dislike the movie and most of the characters/acting - especially Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman - but I do enjoy Clive Owen's performance and watch for him.
Pieces of April - another one where the characters are insufferable, I find the plot trite and full of clichés too, but the mom is a great character and I've watched more than once for her.
Black Swan - another Natalie Portman movie, I find every actor/character except her interesting (Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassell, Barbara Hershey) , unfortunately Natalie dominates most of the scenes, go figure!

That was the worst movie based on the worst book ever written. I never need to see Clint Eastwood naked, and the whole idea that this woman's entire life was defined by 4 days with a passing photographer is just asinine.

I despise Shakespeare In Love (even more because it beat out Saving Private Ryan for Best Picture that year, which was a travesty).
