I have to be honest I think lots of people on this thread either have a live in nanny or older kids. Take a walk together??? How on earth would I do that with three kids under 8?

Put the baby to bed at 7, grandma/friend comes over and watches tv/reads for 1-2 hrs while we walk or dinner out. We have local family that do this but also a couple of childless friends that do this too. My best friend insists on babysitting so we can go out. Even if it's just watching the baby sleep while she reads in the other room.

Umm there's this amazing invention called a stroller... We go on nature walks with our 2 toddlers and it's really easy. All of us love being outside.

Ummmm that's a family walk! Yes we do that to! That's not what the question was about. I meant how do you take a walk without kids to bond with your husbands alone. SMDH.

Same with happy hour at 4. GREAT in theory. With kids and activities, never gonna happen.

HH poster here. We do have an AuPair, but two boys with crazy sports schedules. Even though we have a 3rd driver, we only do HH on nights there are no activities. I will say though, we've not always had an AP, but going out at least once a week has always been a priority and was a financial consideration in getting an AP, it's one less extra expense having the AP price rolled into that night.

I simply do not understand people who don't go out with their spouse on the regular, unless of course if they are dead broke and have no help from friends or family. For our relationship, it is critical to keeping the romance alive that we still hang out and actually have fun together, without children or distractions.

PP here. This is a 2nd relationship for both of us. I am divorced, she is a widow. We are empty nesters so there is no child care to worry about. We are also high income and spend about $4-500 per weekend, that's Friday and Saturday.

Walking together, mornings , sometimes evenings, planning the kids schedule together, working in the kitchen, I cook, he does dishes, watching our favorite tv shows, discussing childhood incidents, politics, our kids future, going out for lunch together.

Play tennis and then occasionally shower together

We take a ballroom dance class. My mom watches the kids for 2 hours.
