SHE cheated, she moves out. Period. SHE wants to end the marriage, SHE demonstrated this by screwing another guy. SHE obviously has issues that need to be addressed.
The kids WILL FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. It is in their best interest to stay with the stable parent, the wife is NOT STABLE IF SHE CHEATED.
In all cases, the cheater should leave the home. Man or woman, they took the steps that ended the marriage. I don't give a damn about any excuses of being driven apart, blah, blah ,blah... Like the PP said: THERE IS NEVER AN EXCUSE FOR CHEATING!

I'm in a similar situation. I recently found out my wife of many years had been having an extended affair. I recently met with a divorce attorney. He told me that my case is strong enough that i can get a judge to order her from the house pending the divorce proceedings. Yeah me!

The cheating spouse should go, no question.
She has already proven to be untrustworthy and morally corrupt. Why should she continue to live the lifestyle she is accustomed to and wants and force a loyal husband into a new life with less contact with the children? SHE made the choice to cheat and leave, SHE needs to go! The sooner the better. No matter what happened in the marriage, there is NEVER AN EXCUSE FOR CHEATING!!! Work it out or leave the marriage before you hook-up. She does not deserve to remain in the house or have primary custody.
