By high school they were switching around clothes so much it was impossible for me to track. I was appalled at first that things weren't getting returned, but by the same token there were things of my DDs that had disappeared into other girls' wardrobes. So I figured it all evened out in the end and they had their own accountability system for making sure no one girl got out of hand with the "borrowing."

Yes, I we can tell which clothing belongs to whom; I feel badly because DS has worn them more than once.

That's not an issue. Pull it out of his drawers, put it in a bag and give it to the mom. Although borrowing underwear from another kid is kind of gross. I'd give her a giftcard in addition for a new pack of underwear as a "thank you" for having lent the clothes.

I get really ticked off when DD lends away clothing I bought her.
