I think they should be disqualified and barred from the games. Ban the whole fucking country if need be. The Lebanese behaved like middle school kids in this incident, and they look pretty bad. Hopefully they will loose big time!
...but it's OK for the Israelis to stop the Palestinian Olympic team chief from leaving Gaza.

I think it's only fair that the hotheads in this thread calling for Lebanon to be banned from the olympic would have to also agree that Israel should be banned for life from the games as well, based on these allegations. Stopping someone from going to the olympics is not very sportsmanlikehypocrisy

Ignorance is bliss for the bigot.
They apparently failed to apply for the paperwork needed to leave. Very different matter.

+1....I'm pretty sure if I were in their shoes I would throw sportsmanship to the wind as well. It's to judge from the comfort of cushy lives here.

The Lebanese didn't show much Olympic spirit there, but there's only so many times you can turn the other cheek. No one can deny Israel expansionist policy hasn't been asking for it, over the years.

There will always be troubles where the Muslims go...sad but true.

Lebanon is 54% Muslim and 41% Christian
Moreover, the team appears to be overwhelmingly Christian -- though I believe the delegation head who blocked the door is Muslim. According to the delegation head, each team was assigned its own bus and he thought the Israelis were attempting to board the wrong bus. It is understandable that a Lebanese might overreact to a perceived attempt by Israelis to occupy someone else's place. They've had bad experiences with that sort of thing.

Wow, you really don't understand what it means to be occupied by a foreign government. You're just an idiot.Anonymous wrote:The Lebanese team should not be able to compete at the Olympics for this behavior. Lebanon has been occupied by Iran, not by Israel.
You moron - you do realize that Lebanon is 40% Christian, don't you?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:It might be ridiculous but then again, what do you know about being a country that was under Israeli siege for decades.
