"Midcentury whimsy." Midcentury whimsy?

What in the actual fuck does that mean?
I want to know, too.
It means pretentious with a side of fictitous, mixed in with spending too much time on Pinterest.

We're going to colour match Martha Stewart Living "Seed Pearl" for the paint, grey furniture, white / lighter grey accents, and although they're kind of passé, accessorize with owls.

The same purple-and-green-with-dragonfly-border that was up when we moved in. We didn't find out sex of either of our babies until the births, and we had two girls.

Because saving money for college is way more important to us than nursery decor, and we want them to choose things for themselves when they are old enough. DD2 chose to paint her new bedroom pale purple and get purple curtains and bedding when she moved out of the nursery.

We're decorating our nursery keeping in mind that it will be guest room after baby is done with it. So, more "grown up" or subtle paint and trim colors, rug/chair that would work in non-baby rooms, and no mural!
