I prefer to fix my car on my own. Although I understand it's not easy and sometimes you require assistance

About 4 1/2 years old. The kids have left the interior light on all night once or twice though

Battery is probably in its last leg because leaving a dime light in really shouldn't drain it. I would be surprised if your battery was warranties at this point, although you might get a slight pro rate if it was a 60 or 72 month battery (which isn't usually the case at a dealer). Do you homework on battery prices with online dealer part sites or prepare to be gouged.

Dealer confirmed its still under warranty. Thanks all!

OP - hang on. (most likely) there's a catch. my guess is that they will give you a pro-rated refund (very small $$) and then they will charge you x2 or x3 of market price for the new battery you will need. you may end up paying a lot more.

i'll report back if that happens but they said the replacement would be completely covered by the warranty.

Good luck but be ready to walk out if they change their story. Never trust dealers.
