We are in the midst of this. Combine with NYE 'hangover' and JOY! Any tips? We are trying setting boundaries approach but maybe different for teens.

It's part of Waldorf education. Not one particular article but google it and it will be on Waldorf sites. Very interesting

Oh yes my 10 year old is such a drama queen. Even the smallest of things is such a big deal to her, then throw into the mix her now getting pimples plus she is not shy in telling me about finding new hairs that were not there the day before.

My ten yr old is the same, so many changes happening inside and out and worrying if what is happening is normal, even though we have and still have lots of talks and she has a book to look at, it's still worrying when things begin.

I admit to being out of my depth with this. I was 15 when I started my period. And DD is 11 but looks 15, which is difficult, although she has so far handled it well. I mean, aside from the PMS-y toddler tantrums.

NP. I got mine at 12, so I don't think 11 is that abnormal. And in my experience it is fairly normal for girls in the 10-12 age range to be quite moody. All three of my girls who are that age or older at this point either are or were very emotional, dramatic, and prone to outbursts as preteens and young teenagers.
