My ex's mostly gave me junk, but the letters were sweet. I should probably find them and throw them away.

Do you have kids? My parents divorced because of adultery, and I would have liked to have some family pictures with both parents.

I have a box of them. Photo albums, mix tapes, letters, old cassettes of answering machine messages, 3.5 inch diskettes with emails, etc. It's just old stuff and my wife doesn't care.

I'm 50, so I dated before we had email and text. Guys did actually write handwritten love letter and cards. It was kind of sweet.

Damn, that was a long time ago -- we didn't even have answering machines when I first started dating!

I have a shoebox with a few things like that. It has a couple of photos, a love note or two, my first concert tickets, stubs from other plays and concerts, etc. My DH doesn't care (and doesn't snoop in the storage closet). I'd throw it all away if he really wanted me to do so, but I think I'll enjoy looking at it when I am really old.

Now saving ALOT of that stuff would be odd.

My highschool / college bf bought me a beautiful gold charm bracelet. I wore it out of habit after we broke up & still did when I started dating my now husband (the relationships were many years & countries apart).

DH didn't like it & got me a replacement with charms of our moments. It's still in my jewellery box. I should sell it. No sentimental value left in it for me.
