Gown for the first day.

Showered and changed into my soft flannel lounge around pants and nursing tank top. Flip flops.

Pjs at night. That helped me set day & night mentally.

Hospital gown for the first day. After that, comfy yoga pants, tank and sweatshirt for daytime, pajamas for nighttime. I had an emergency CSection and DC was in the NICU. It was Dec and the hospital was freezing.

Gown for labor. Pajama bottoms and a t-shirt. I wasn't given a choice for what to wear during labor. I think a lot of hospitals want you in a hospital gown during labor for easy access in case of emergencies. I agree with PPs to not bring a lot. I did appreciate my own shampoo and toothbrush. And the hospital underwear is horrible...but you do need something full coverage and for pads/ice packs, etc. I was quite happy to get into some cotton granny panties once home. I plan to bring those to the hospital for my second. Just assume anything you bring will be stained/ruined though - nothing you want to be careful with!

Winter baby so yoga pants and a nursing bra and a long sleeve button down pj top. Also a warm robe. I showered as soon as I could to feel better. I also got and loved some nursing pjs with pant bottoms. They were super soft and the top was cross cross with a little support shelf so I could stick the nursing pad in there and not wear a nursing bra since my breasts hurt. I still wear those pjs 6 months pp.

hospital gown for the entire 4 days!! my water broke while I was at physical therapy (which was at the hospital ) so I didn't have anything on hand. I have my baby via c section.

My mom is an OB and she has outfitted me for my hospital stay. I thought she would think it's stupid, so I was surprised that she insisted on this. I got a "gownie" to wear during labor and for afterwards she got me a monogrammed robe and slippers. There's also a pillow case that coordinates with the gownie for pictures. I was pretty shocked and figured hospital staff thought this stuff was stupid, but she says the cute gowns are common and really popular. I think she'd dreamed of seeing me in the labor and delivery unit for quite some time.

To answer the question -- I had a c-section and just wore the hospital gown and nursing bra. I had a bathrobe for when we had visitors or I wanted to get up and walk around.

I haven't recommended them before, but I know there are 2 other people on here that talk about them too lol. They do have a pants version in the winter. I bought the black pants just the other day (in July) to go with my shorts in case it's cold in the hospital. The pants are sold by themselves, but the color matches.

Just hospital gown for actual labor and immediately after. Hospital gown over a "sleep" nursing bra and gym shorts after - I brought a robe but felt grungy (in-room shower was inadequate) so didn't want to put on anything nice. For leaving the hospital, yoga pants and a t-shirt. Once I was past the ice pack stage (so basically, once I was leaving the hospital), I greatly preferred disposable Depends underwear to the mesh hospital panties.

Packing my hospital bag now so following. I figure I will just wear the gown but I'm packing 2 nightgowns that have easy access for BF just in case. I had not thought of a robe for visitors and walking the halls, so thank you!!

I wore the hospital gown (and another one, backwards) only. When I left the hospital I wore a maxi dress, sweater and flip flops.

+1 - emergency c section and I definitely wore the gowns. I also took a massive suitcase of stuff I never needed (with the exception of toiletries - first shower was terribly hard but it was nice to have my own stuff). They give you everything else!
