The basement is being remodeled and we cnanot sleep there.
Maybe I am high maintenance, I don't know. I have a demanding job and I'm trying to work while dealing with my DD's drop off and pickup and just the general difficulties of a spouse out of town, I had my glucose test this morning and am feeling like shit because of that, I'm just not in a great mood right now. I have been sitting in a hot house waiting for our first service person who no showed. I finally have someone scheduled for 9 am tomorrow. And there is no way on god's green earth that I am going to run out and purchase an effing air conditioner. My mom cannot help with drop off, she works.

Can your mom pitch in and help with camp dropoff?

Things like this always turn into fun adventures.

We had no A/C after the derecho a few years back and we went to a hotel within 36 hours of losing power. We let the kids sleep naked the first night - still a happy memory for them! - but it was just so miserable that we didn't want to tough it out any longer.
This. For one night, your mom's or a hotel. You just need to make the call whether saving the money on the hotel is worth the hassle factor of tomorrow's commute. That's a completely personal judgment call.
Hope the AC is a quick fix!
Yes. This! If there is a close hotel with a pool then bonus for you. Make it an adventure. Go out to eat. This is a problem to throw money at as long as you have the money to throw. Our a/c went out on the Friday evening of Memorial Day weekend. I played he pregnant lady card. They came out that night. You might also want to call the contractor working on the basement and see if they can check the unit.
