At my skinniest, I weighed 117 and modeled bikinis.

Postpartum (I've had two) with my first, I lost weight too fast and got down to 118 - looked awful and was sick all of the time.

I figure my ideal is a toned and lean 122.

I used to eat what I wanted to and had had trouble keeping weight on, then perimenopause hit and cellulite and crepey, loose skin hit and ... I've hit a rough patch.

I've joined a gym and am exercising more vigorously 4x week and working on strength training.

Trying to eat better, but I have a ton of allergies and sensitivities - soy makes me have cystic acne, allergic to fish, never liked any meat or poultry...

Wait, you think your ideal weight is 122 but you feel like a whale at 124? Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

Was about to post exactly the same thing.

I say this with love: let it go! I'm sure you look great now. Life's too short to be obsessing for 19 years about 7 freaking pounds.

I had a lot of luck with the weight watchers online program and app when I was trying to lose. I am 5'3 1/2 and am always between 119 and 122, though 80% I'm 120-121. As I've gotten older (almost 37), this has taken more effort. I always have been a runner, but in my 20s could eat a lot of junk at night and big meals all day long (and then I actually weighed 115). Now I really limit the food portions. I still eat what I want, but in much smaller quantities. For breakfast I usually eat a banana with coffee/half n half or sometimes just the coffee. Lunch is an Amy's frozen meal often. Dinner is one plate of whatever I'm cooking or whatever we bring home. I snack on fruit and veggies all day, and I still need junk at night (chocolate or ice cream usually, but will also sometimes snack on grapes). If I eat heavily one day, the scale shows it the next. That never used to happen (used to be days of crap eating before i would see it). For exercise, I aim to run 3 miles 3 times per week but sometimes I only run 2 days. I also lift weights when I can and do a 20 minute workout video that kicks my butt occasionally.

Lose It is a great diet app. You put in your goal weight and they estimate how many calories you can eat per day and project how long it'll take you to get there. Right now I'm looking at October to reach my goal weight with 1,500 calories/day. You log all your food which is easy to look up because they have a lot of nutritional info for various brands. You also log exercise which will adjust for how many calories you can have that day. It's been helpful.

+1
This is me - even the age...

I eat frequently and make sure to eat mostly fruit, veg, and lean protein. I try to eat Paleo about 80% of the time... To me, that means a piece of bread with either lunch or dinner and maybe a small dessert, and Paleo the rest of the day. I find that I feel better and have more energy that way.

This sounds almost exactly like me, except I have 3 kids (youngest two are twins). My summer workout schedule has been crap due to their schedules but normally I workout 3x a week pretty regularly. I've been into sports since I was a kid so it wasn't something I had to pick up as an adult, which probably helped. I'm not sure what strict Paleo folks do and I suspect we're a lot more lax than some; I/we do eat grains, but not a lot of white flours or sugars; if we do rice, it's usually brown rice, bread is whole grain, cereal is usually steel-cut oatmeal, etc. I'm not one of those people who refuses birthday cake or an occasional ice cream cone at the pool, etc. Although, at age 38, I'm starting to feel like my digestive system is getting a lot less, um, tolerant of that stuff than it used to be, ugh.

I'm 5'5" and 125-130lbs, I don't exercise, sit at my desk 8 hours a day. Not everyone runs on the same amount of fuel so how much I need for the day might be different than others.

Breakfast: coffee with cream sugar (estimated 3tbsp of each)
Lunch is a variation of the following: chili, rice & stirfry veggies & meat, rice & grill meat & steamed broccoli, grill meat with salad
Snack: 1-2 fruits
Dinner: similar to lunch
Snack: 1-2 fruits (apple/pear/orange...)

I'm 37, 5'6" and weigh about 125lbs. Not sure about my calorie intake but here's a typical (work) day:

Breakfast at 6:30 am: coffee, sometimes a bagel or toast but usually just coffee
Snack around 10:30 am: granola bar or nuts
Lunch: leftovers from night before or a sandwich
Dinner (what I had last night): teriyaki chicken, rice and broccoli, and a glass of wine.

I don't really exercise but I am on my feet for most of the day and I speed walk to and from the metro (less than half a mile).

Anonymous wrote:I range between 125 and 130. I am not sure about the daily caloric intake, but I can give you an example (I do this most days).

breakfast - coffee with a bagel w/ cream cheese
lunch - salad (I typically go to Chopt or bring some from home - including an egg, or some pasta)
snack - orange (so refreshing)
dinner - salad, 1 plate or bowl of homemade food (chicken stir fry, lasagna, steak, something along those lines), some nuts/pop corn/watermelon and wine for dessert.

I exercise here and there, no more than twice a week - mix of yoga and running.

hope this helps

Thanks- that does help. I'm wondering about portions. Do you consciously eat smaller portions?

Im in your exact weight range. was hovering around 140 for a long time and felt like crap. now at 130. if I ate the above, I would be 145+. The only way I have found to lose any weight, is to go 1200 calories a day or less and be sure to get at least 9,000 steps. And I've only lost the 10 lbs in over 2 months. I'm short though, under 5'2". I would advise tracking food and activity and see how it works for you.
