I will never understand how anyone can defend those particular firearms.
Still waiting to hear from the NRA regarding Dallas. They have been uncharacteristically quiet and Trump except for a brief response about law and order. Still waiting....tick, tick, tick.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I think eventually, people are going to have to give those damn guns up.
They'd rather die, and kill you, than do that. You are calling for civil war.
Which just shows me that people who own these weapons are mentally unstable. And they shouldn't own firearms anyway.
I mean, really, what reasonable person says that asking for people to give up one particular weapon or at least store them at a range is asking for civil war? That is just so far beyond a sensible response.
You do kmow that you're talking about millions of people here, the vast majority of which are not unstable? Please also look up what an "assault rifle" is before stupidly parroting false information.
There are an estimated 10 million AR-15s in civilian hands in the US. The fact that 5 or so have been used in atrocities doesn't tell us much. But I am curious how you think you can get the existing 10 million off the street.

Or, to go to the range and have fun shooting pieces of paper, which is what millions of rifle owners - the vast, vast majority of them - do every week.
Can't they take up another hobby? Maybe they should take up reading or something and then they won't be so upset when we try to get rid of military assault weapons being on our streets. They can have target practice with handguns or shot guns. They don't need assault weapons at our safety's expense. What about our rights to live in a safe country? My rights are now being violated.
Anonymous wrote:I really wish the NRA would make a statement on Dallas. Come on, tell us that the solution is more guns!
If there is anything good to come out of these past few weeks, it's that it is a reminder that Black people can also legally purchase guns, carry them in the open and there is the chance they might use those guns on white people .
Sadly, I believe this is the only way to get people to support gun control. Remind all the yahoos out there that the 2nd amendment also applies to black people.

Anonymous wrote:Maybe now that people at BLM protests are openly carrying assault rifles in Texas, instead of white "from my dead hands types," the NRA will think reasonable gun control is something desirable.

It is nonsense. No-one needs an assault rifle.
Go ahead and make a list of your possessions, and I'll tell you which ones you need and which ones you should give up because I don't approve of them.

I've learned that some people that don't support a ban on assault riffles do it out of fear that a ban on ARs would be just the first step. Slippery slope. Men that love hunting. They think that if it starts with a ban on ARs, eventually their precious hunting guns will also be banned. I think it's nonsense.
