I know my suggestion won't be popular -- least of all with the person I'm suggesting -- but I think Abigail Smith should be considered. I can't defend her entire track record, but I think she has dealt with the system long enough to know what can and should be fixed.

Henderson was a good transition to heal some of the wounds from the Michelle Rhee reign. I look forward to seeing candidates emerge to chart a new path for DCPS.

So weird, I was just saying to my husband last night when was the last time we heard from or of Kaya Henderson.

It is time for the District to get an experienced SUPERINTENDENT, not a Chancellor. There is a huge difference in the requirements. Montgomery County Public Schools just chose their new Superintendent yesterday from a pool of seventy candidates.

In my limited interactions with her she came off as extraordinarily arrogant, even when she didn't understand the conversation she still felt compelled to commandeer it. She holds a low opinion of her teachers and staff but a high view of her senior team and her own leadership. I won't miss her at all

With Bowser's re-election on the line, now is the time to start lobbying for a chancellor who will listen to all of his/her constituents. Previous poster hit the nail on the head when they said that Henderson was solely focused on raising test scores of kids woefully behind. While that's laudable and something that should be given focus, it should not be the next chancellors only focus. That is why the middle school situation is a complete disaster.

She followed/used very standard AP style for how she did the titles. Many criticisms of her, but I can't really fault her on that one.

It would be nice if the next Chancellor actually listens to parents than just show up for "listening meetings" and pretend that she listened.

Pretty interesting that she forced the launch of the Young Men of Color high school project, tapping her friend from Chicago (is that right?) for it to happen, but she leaves before it even opens. She's a mess.
