The gun show loophole... Ah. You're using one example of a 13 year old buying a rifle (not an assualt weapon) as a catch all to theorize this happens all the time and anywhere. You are wrong. ANYONE can exchange guns or gives a gun to someone. Federally licensed dealers must run background checks.

1. Federally licensed gun sellers are required to run background checks. But not all sellers are required to be licensed. Some of those unlicensed sellers sell at gun shows.

2. This is not a gun-show issue - it can happen any where.

3. I guarantee that just because this kid couldn't buy lottery tickets or cigs that other teens CAN and DO.

I am not pro-gun, but I still say this one example being held to the standard of what happens in our country is a little ridiculous.

Most guns used in mass shootings are purchased LEGALLY and most assailants have mental illness or some sort. Showing ONE 13 yr old can purchase a gun proves what in regards to mass shootings in america?

Uh, yes they can - just purchase from a private seller at a gun show or buy it on the net. just like that - no check. Further, even if there is a check, so many, many cracks in that system.

States bordering Mexico has more stringent monitoring.
