Why do you "need" a BMW or a Mercedes?
You don't. You want it. Other people want AR-15s. It's called freedom.
A luxury car owner cant perform MASS murders at the same rate an assault rifle can? If freedom to have something increases the chance of taking the freedom to live for so many innocent citizens, then that freedom need to be reconsidered.

+1. This is an attempt to get the low-infos on board to ban a gun that they know nothing about so the gun-grabbers can later make the argument that all semis are actually just like the banned AK and should be banned as well.
OK, so explain how a handgun could do as much damage as an assault rifle in the same amount of time?
Jesus Christ. NOTICE ALL DCUM PEOPLE WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GUNS. PLEASE READ A WIKI PAGE ABOUT HOW GUNS WORK.
This has been explained numerous times on several threads here. There is no difference between semi handguns and semi long guns. The AK looks like a machine gun, but it's actually not. Large capacity magazines can be bought for either. Some states restrict the number of rounds in a magazine. Regardless of this, empty magazines can be quickly swapped out with new, full ones, with a little practice. A 9mm Beretta handgun can accept a 33 round magazine and then re-loaded an unlimited amount of times. Also it would probably be more convenient for a shooter to have two semi handguns rather than a bulky AK. Easier to shoot someone a t short range with a handgun also. (This is why cops carry handguns and not AKs).
We're saying we want all semi's gone. Single use handguns only.

I honestly do not understand the gun owners vitriol here on this thread and elsewhere. That this sort of weapon is allowed to be owned by just about anyone in this country is the absolute height of insanity.
This is flat out wrong and attempts to conflate a fully automatic military M-16 with the civilian AR-15. An AR is not automatic. To fire 750 rounds in a minute you need to pull the trigger 12.5 times per second without stopping to reload. Both are impossible. To fire 900 rounds a minute we're talking 15 trigger pulls per second without stopping to reload (again, impossible). Please don't repeat outright lies to support your position.
You should give up arguing here. Most posters on this forum are willfully ignorant about guns and make up laughable posts like the above that almost defy the laws of physics.

Those hurt or kill people?

Then we should just get rid of guns all together if this is the case, or as a PP noted, not allow magazines that carry so many bullets. As you stated PP, it's too easy for someone to kill so many people. Think about how easy it was to kill 20 5/6 yr olds based on what you stated. Doesn't that disturb you at all? If not, you are seriously f*d up.
NP Here. I'm a Republican who would be willing to ban everything semiautomatic. Every legal firearm would need to be manually cycled after firing in order to chamber a subsequent round.
If Democrats would nominate someone who had an ounce of personal integrity, I'd consider voting for her or him.
