My child is 47" and 56 lbs at 9 and therefore must stay in a high backed booster in the SUV due to positioning of seat belts. In the minivan she uses just a booster without the back. I love my kid and feel comfortable knowing she will not die in an accident due to my negligence.
At 9 years old???
Do you understand the point of a booster? At 47" her child is not tall enough for the seat belt to fit properly. My harnessed 4 year old is taller than her 9 year old. You would really advise her to not put her kid in a booster because of age?

What part of this is confusing to you? The need for a booster is based on SIZE, not AGE.
Seriously. The stupidity boggles the mind.
Most recs say at least 4"9 and 80 lbs, usually between 8-12 years old. My 4"3 50lb 8 year old will probably be closer to 12 when she stops needing a booster. I don't care if her friends don't use one. I'm not endangering her safety because of peer pressure FFS.
