One was Dec 09, next was Feb 10. Neither had any measurable impact on birth rates.

No. The blizzard was the winter of 2010. So those kids would have been born in December 2010 - which means they have just turned 5 and are entering K in the fall.


Snowmaggedon was Jan. 2010. I delivered at Sibley on the 3rd. My kid is 6 and entering 1st. That first year is a blur so I don't remember a blizzard also at the end of year. But I remember worrying like hell about getting to Sibley and I remember what that parking lot looked like with the mounds of snow.

This is also the year all the blizzard babies go to Kindergarten. It'll be interesting to see how big K classes are.

For Key, IB with sibling preference, for sure in. IB w/o sibling preference, the past couple years not all have gotten in.
