Not to throw this thread off track, but nearly every place DH and I have visited has been fun. It's about what you do, your happiness while you're there and who you're with.

Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Beautiful beaches, lots of shipwreck lore and museums (Edmund Fitzgerald), iron mining history, Soo Locks, etc.

We're going to Asheville in a couple of weeks -- do you think the Biltmore is worth it with a toddler (20 mo)? Would also love the name of the pizza joint! Thanks

Same here. Ever since I heard how great the children's museum is, which was about the time I noticed how often Diners Driveins and Dives films there.

We also had a blast in Atlanta. We visited the art museum and the zoo and drove out to the place where they film 'the walking dead' and walked around. ALso, outlets. And great food.

Happy to see all the love for Pittsburgh on the list. I've been telling my husband for 2 years "I want to take a long weekend there... go to a Pirates game... check it out." Finally last summer he agreed, but our schedule didn't work with the Pirates schedule. We're really going to try to make it work this summer.

Greenville SC was recently on some list of "top small US cities."

I dated a guy who went to Clemson. Never really stopped in Greenville, but knew exactly where it was.

So many hiking trails and outdoorsy things just around the city. Not to mention Park City. Loved that. Thought in and out burger was on par with mcdonalds. Not good. But found a local cafe in one of the canyons.
