I think the answer is more simple: your mom has her own body image issues and she is projecting on you. Maybe she regrets not taking care of herself more or something, or not giving herself permission to. I don't know how else you could explain her getting so angry at you. I would just not discuss this stuff with her.

I get annoyed by people who constantly talk about their looks. I don't care if you get some things touched up, and I'm not necessarily against doing some things myself, but hearing about it all then time is annoying. Just don't talk about it with her.

Ignoring the bleeding growth on your cheek is horrible, and it sounds like she has some deep seated issues with looks. You aren't going to change that at 68, so stand up for yourself and talk to her about less sensitive topics like politics.
