The original Dora. Why does she need map? Who sends her out in world as kid all alone? And what's up with swiper? Is there a point? Never got it
Updated show for older kids is so much better
Dora was actually a 'sprite' from a video game. It was supposed to mimic an interactive game (at the time these were CD-ROM based computer games, where you would click on a map to get bearing, collect points, and have 1st person view). Which is why dora talks to viewer, and the 'do you see game' has a cursor and a ding. The map idea was to click on that map and get bearing, and honestly getting kids interested in how to read a map seems like a good skill.
The Dora And Friends map app signals the end of civilization, though the map song was insufferable.
This is a entertaining parody.
