Well this Old thread helps me realize how oblivious I am to fashion. I have never noticed half tuck in print or in life in any year. I did not notice top lengths or pants waists rising or falling. I have only bought a few new items in recent years. My family and friends still love me.

The half tuck is also about your vertical proportions. People look best when they dress their bodies in thirds, not halves. So the half tuck created a nice ⅓ to ⅔ look.

I only hate the half tuck when I see people over 40 doing it (I'm over 40.) It just looks like they are trying too hard.

Get over it. Historical threads are still of interest.

Glad you got that off your chest! How long have you been carrying that around?

Not sure where everyone is still buying long, drapey tunic tops. Everything i've been buying in the last few years is decidedly shorter (waist or hip length at most) -- i think to correspond with the style of high waisted jeans. I'm not seeing drapey long tunics anywhere except budget places like old navy.

I'm slim and without too many curves (so don't have the large breasts issue above), and i either do full untuck, or i frequently do the full tuck -- but only with high waisted pants. So in either case, you can still see my hips and maybe even my waist (depending on shirt length). I am definitely not preppy or geeky or matronly (in my early 40s), but have really been liking this look for the last couple years. It looks way more current with high waisted jeans and very flattering.

It looks ridiculous! Looks like they just came out of the bathroom and part of their shirt was stuck in their pants. I can’t believe it’s actually a trend.

I like it in fashion pictures, but when I try it myself or see it in real life it definitely looks pretty contrived. Like you're trying too hard to look like the pictures.

If full tuck makes you look boxy you are not slim.

Reread what I wrote. You're not actually responding to anything I said. Try again with your reading skills.

I love the drapey/boyfriend shirts. I was so tired of fitted"painter" tees, etc.

I don't do any tucking, though.
