Hardly. She was (Marguiles) so powerful by the end of the show - in real life, as a producer, exec producer, whatever - they would have written it almost exactly as she the actress would have dictated it.

I think it would have been much more satisfying to spend the season on Alicia's long-term relationships instead of introducing a new best friend and love interest.
