I just tried it. Yes, the thing will work as a hair tie. There is enough elastic. I'm probably bigger than op (size xl) and I had to double the thing over a few times, but it works

If anyone saw the tag and noticed it was VS, they probably just wondered if VS sells hair ties now...if they thought anything of it at all.

Sorry, even tiny things don't have that much elastic. Rocket science doesn't stop the fabric from slipping out. Surly you had to adjust your hair thong.

Oh, I see what you mean now. I thought you were questioning the possibility of even using a thong to put the hair up. But you mean that I would have slipped out and I'd have to re-do it during the day? Actually no. It wasn't a pony tail. More like a messy bun. It was pretty tight.
