I feel like I've tried them all. I hate the dust and lint from the two-ply toilet papers. They do leave linty bits on people, too, which is gross. Those of you who don't notice it aren't very fastidious. They clog toilets more. I've resigned myself to Scot one-ply.

We use it. I don't like thicker toilet paper. It dusts and comes apart. One ply works fine, is good for septic, and doesn't clog if the kids use too much.

My 10yo DD complains if I buy less than 3 ply tp. She bitches about it every single time she goes to the bathroom. She likes quilted northern with the purple packaging. I don't really care so I get it. When I told her we thought 2 ply was fancy when I was growing up, she said something to the effect of "I thought grandma would have been a better parent than that." The poor kid is about to go slumming at grandma's house with her 2 ply charmin. I wouldn't be surprised if DD tried to sneak some 3ply tp in her suitcase.

In 5 years, we've had 3 clogs. 2 were solved simply by letting things sit for 30-60 minutes. The toilet paper basically dissolves and the clog solves itself on its own.

Once required a simple zip-it. Took seconds to fix.

The cheap stuff is the gold stuff, as far as I'm concerned.

There is language in my tenants' lease about what they can flush- TP only, no wipes, feminine products, etc., and that if there is a plumbing issue that is found to be due to those things, the tenants pay for it. I would love to specify 1-ply only (which is what I use all the time) but I think that might be going too far. If I had a septic tank, I would specify.

Unless you're repurposing lint from the dryer your tp shouldn't increase your need to vacuum.

the best toilet paper is Giant brand, the Scott knock-off they place next to Scott on the shelf. Cheap too.
