Our HHI is 20 percent higher but our mortgage is a thousand dollars a month less.

Our mortgage is a little more than half that much. So that's why we have an easier time making ends meet.

Yes, we put about $100k in my card every year. I'm used this year's points on a flight to Europe this summer. Last year it paid for Disney par khoppers for the family. I always have a goal for the points, so h don't spend them until I hit that goal. Not sure what our next goal will be.

We are a bit higher - $290.
Mortgage PTI: $2600 plus extra $500 a month
Nanny: $3800 - $4000 a mo
Cable/internet, food, car gas, clothes, everything basically: $5000 a month - basically everything that's day to day living goes on our CC.
Electric and gas: $200
Savings (outside of pre-tax retirement): $3000 give or take

If you use an amex the points can be used for e gift certifcates like home depot. So you are better off using the amex and paying a 55 annual fee. You get far more than that bck in gift certs over 1 year when you charge groceries, gas, and anything else that doesn't have a fee for using the card. Ironically the stuff that is most needed like paying gas and electric charge a fee for a credit card.
