Don't know about a teen, but my NT 10 yr old boy holds my hand often. He's a wrestler and football player. Hid dad kisses him all the time. At night, he wants mom to pet his back. I'll take it as long as I can.

Yes. Not in front of their friends obviously, but otherwise yes. They'll hug me in front of friends.

I am the PP who had teen hug at sporting event.

I also noticed my other teen had serious hand warts from hand holding and we snuggle all the time to watch movies on the weekends. They both go hang with their friends but they know one night a weekend they are home and we do something they want -- pizza, inappropriate movie and hang out close on the couch. I think it is more odd that you never do any of those things with your kids. You are the adult and you are the reason it does not happen.

I can see holding their hands or having them rest their head on my shoulder if they were going through something very difficult - like a funeral of a close family member.

Why? Nobody is expecting a teen to cuddle with their parent, but holding a hand, putting you arm around them, putting their head on your shoulder for a moment is normal. Do you associate these things with sex? I don't. If you read about "love languages for teens" physical touch is a normal need teens have.

I didn't say I was freaked out by touching my teen. I actually said that I do hug my teen which includes putting my arm around them. I give high fives. I pat their backs. I can not see myself or my teen being comfortable holding hands with each other or wanting to hold them with their head on my shoulder like I did when they were sleepy and little.

They aren't babies anymore and I don't treat them like little babies. They can cross the street all by themselves now too, they don't need me to hold their hand anymore. It is odd for me to sometimes see people holding their teens like they would a little kid. You are the one who mentioned sex btw.
