Subject: Job with long commute
Op here - I did a dry run during rush hour. It was a nightmare at 4; I can't imagine it later. So moving on...

What speed cameras? I take back roads from Rockville trough Potomac to i-495 on my way to Arlington/Alexandria. Only know about 1 camera on River rd..
PS I would not advise to take a job with long commute unless there are significant perks in new position - eg growth potential, money, good on resume for future job hunt, oh, and telecommute of course.

My resume - I've only been here a few months.
I work in MoCo and work in Tysons but l do a 6:30am-3pm schedule and leave home before rush hour and my commute is about 20 min and leave the office before rush hours starts and my commute home is about 30 min. Not to bad at all.

No freaking kidding. DH and I both work in Tyson's but have to live in Bethesda due to family obligations. i don't understand why there is no mass transit link of any sort across the American legion bridge. I would happily pay higher taxes to make it happen. (Maybe not if WMATA administered it though...)
DC wasn't forward thinking 30 years ago. Look at how long it took Metro to get to Tyson's.
If MD was smart, they would allow VA to extend the express lanes past the Legion Bridge and let it merge onto 495 to end it. That would help a lot.
