No spot is owed to anyone.

Mine scored 35 on the ACT, had great grades from a Big three, super recommendations, and astounding ECAs including an international award. and guess what, he got into an IVY. His stats are in the top 25 % of his IVY class. Based on objective criteria, I doubt he took your kid's place.

The same people keep starting these kinds of threads here and in the Political forum. They are also the ones who complain that URMs are taking all the seats from white applicants yet the stats don't reflect that. URM stats traditionally remain in the single digits with many colleges at 3-4%.Anonymous wrote:I am really curious as to who keeps starting these threads. As best I see, they only fan flames and spread a lot of misinformation. PP, I graduated from on of the school you mention and I have family members who attend. I did not see that HUGE support you talk about.
Again, why do we keep talking about this? So a low percentage of URM at the top institutions. I just feel like many of you are just teeing off under the guise of anonymity.
