I wash my hands and they still smell like the ground turkey after washing it 3 times.

This just happened to me, my stomach has gotten sick from the smell, just a really strong smell all over my home. I was making rotell and I added some of the brown ground turkey to the crockpot. I am afraid to eat it because the smell is so loud. I purchased this meat from Kroger‘s, and it’s the Kroger‘s brand, very disappointed.

I would surely pitch it. I get food poisoning fairly frequently so I don't eat bad meat or it will eat me.

Ugh just cooked up 1/3 of a pack frozen butter ball ground turkey my mom gave me last week but had been frozen. It has my entire house smelling like a poultry massacre in here. I’m not much of a meat eater as is and usually avoid cooking it but this may be the push I need to go full pescatarian. It was all it took over 10 years ago for me to wake up and the smell of bacon and ground beef was it for me with those meats. Looks like I’m off turkey something isn’t right here.

This happened to me last night. Bought a pound from Kroger (their brand) and it smelled strong. I also added a pound of ground chuck and made my spaghetti sauce. It didn't taste good, so I threw it out. Kroger will only refund the turkey price.
I'm done buying turkey.

I have always hated the ground turkey poultry smell/taste and just reading this all is nauseating.

It made the house stink like it when I was browning it so badly I was afraid it wasn't good to eat. Dh said I was crazy. We did end up throwing it out because I was so repulsed but wondering if others would do the same? I use a lot of ground turkey for spaghetti and it has never smelled like that.

So I call Kroger’s and asked had there been a recall on the ground turkey and they said no I asked if anyone had returned any ground turkey and they said no something is definitely going on with ground turkey I’ve been eating ground turkey for 20 years and it’s never smelled or taste like this I don’t even eat beef. I also asked a close friend and she had a similar experience.

Funny to see this revived, I'm the OP. I shop at Kroger too. I basicallly stopped buying it and just get lean beef now.
