not Frankfurt. Do Berlin instead if you are ok with chilly temps.

We spent 5 days there a few days ago. You'd be fine with 4. I HIGHLY recommend this tour http://www.tasteofprague.com/prague-food-tour/
and take it in the beginning of your trip, if possible.

I also recommend taking the train to the Sedlec ossuary in Kutna Hora and also visiting St. Barbara's cathedral and taking a tour of the silver mine. Those 3 things will take up a whole day.

The silver mine tour is awesome. Call ahead though to make sure you're there in time for the English tour.

Personally I love Greece. From Athens, you can take a ferry to the Greek islands. GORGEOUS!

Prague is wonderful. Depending on what you're looking for in a getaway, I'd also consider Berlin or Amsterdam.

Where in Europe is he going for work? I think to maximize time you could go somewhere close/easy for him.

I think for 4 days I would pick Vienna. It seems the right length of time to see and eat enough that you have experienced it. I would also consider other medium-sized capital cities like Lisbon (never been but seems to fit the bill for length of stay), Warsaw, Riga.

I would love to see the fjords of Norway, as well as Oslo. There are too many choices in Europe.
