Separately, I find it interesting that the acceptance letter at at least one these schools talks more about our family than our child. I wanted to hear a bit more about why they picked my kid.
about your second point, that IS interesting. being parent of an incoming Ker i had to be a huge part of the process, and i really enjoyed the admissions experience at one school much more so than at the other.
I applied to both of these schools for my child and was struck at how warm the admissions process was at each. They both seemed to want to know my child and our family.
Looking back on it, I think both schools want to be sure that the family is on board with the progressive education model. In the parent interviews, each asked what we wanted from our child's education, what types of activities we did together as a family, etc.
In contrast, neither asked me or my spouse what we did for a living or where we went to school (which were asked on applications at other schools). I found that refreshing.
