Like most high schools, the teachers carry too big a roster for extensive writing feedback in the pre IB years, so it has this downside of public HS. They try to compensate for this with the writing center, open to all. It's true that the honors / IB kids quietly become a school within the school, but I have t heard about any conflicts among kids about this. Athletic Boosters has been hugely active and PTA is there, though not a powerhouse. The area from Franconia to Huntington Metro is undervalued in property and commute.
