Yes, it is addictive and most medical is just a cover up for people to get it easily/cheaply. You'd have to be crazy to give it to a kid as it could ruin their future lives if they ever have a job that requires drug testing or something like a clearance where they ask and care about drug use.

I'm the one who works in the cannabis industry. The answer is "possibly." Some people get an anxiety attack from it while others get completely mellowed out.

I know a number of people with ADHD who self medicate with pot. They find that it slows all the racing thoughts and helps them to focus.
Like most things, some will find it helpful, down will find it does nothing, and some will find it makes it worse.

Research scientist here. Having combed the primary research literature for information on ADHD medication, I can tell you that nothing works better than methylphenidate stimulants (ex: Focalin). Then come amphetamine stimulants (ex: Adderall), then come non-stimulants then anti-depressants (risky).
Cannabis use for ADHD is not well researched and is therefore riskier than the list above. I do not recommend it until your DD has worked with a reputable psychiatrist and tried a couple of meds of each kind, without success.
Cannabis can be used successfully for many chronic pain situations. ADHD is not one of them.

Wow. You're a peach. Do you have a child with special needs, or just generally enjoy judging the parents of children with special needs? What a lucky "friend" you have. Ugh.
I also have a child with ASD. So, you can have a seat.
No, not really. You should stop judging another parent for making difficult decisions regarding medication. Perhaps her child has not slept in years. Why would it be a bad idea to explore medical options? Good lord.
DP. We're all allowed to worry for other children. Nothing on this thread seems to imply that medical marijuana for sleep is the right step, or, if the wrong step, harmless.
What are you talking about? It’s commonly prescribed for insomnia.
